Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society - Ken Crenshaw

According to the National Athletic Trainers Association, athletic training encompasses the prevention, examination, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of emergent, acute or chronic injuries and medical conditions.  Athletic trainers (ATCs) are highly qualified, multi-skilled health care professionals who render service or treatment, under the direction of or in collaboration with a physician, in accordance with their education, training and the state's statutes, rules and regulations.

When it comes to taking care of multi-million-dollar Major League Baseball players there is no one better to interview than Ken Crenshaw who has over 30 years of experience as Professional Baseball Athletic Trainer.

In this podcast we’re going to talk with Ken about what  an Athletic Trainer is, what are their roles and responsibilities as well as what it takes to become an Certified Athletic Trainer at the professional level.  Crenshaw is the Director of Sports Medicine for the Arizona Diamond backs and is well known by his peers as a leader and someone who is always trying to make the profession better.

We’re going to talk everything athletic training as well as learn more about the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society (PBATS).  Please be sure to email us with any questions and refer to the links below for resources mentioned in the podcast.
