Public Relations in Professional Sports: Rick Cerrone
The definition of Public Relations is the professional maintenance of a favorable public image by a company or other organization or famous person. There is no one better in the business than Rick Cerrone of Rick Cerrone Communications, who has built his business on experience that he has gained from the time he was in high school. His dream as a young man was to be the Director of Public Relations for the New York Yankees, which he told his high school guidance counselor his sophomore year of High School.
In this podcast we’re going to take a journey through Rick Cerrone's life and how he went from being the youngest Editor in Chief of a national baseball magazine in his 20’s to working with George “The Boss” Steinbrenner and the World Champion New York Yankees for 11 years.
Throughout his star studded, World Series winning career, Rick has learned many life lessons that he will share with us in the podcast. He’s had the opportunity to work with some of the best managers and players in the game of Major League Baseball. You’re going to hear stories about what it was like working for Mr. Steinbrenner during the times when the Yankees were winning and winning big!
Following his career with the New York Yankees and after receiving 4 World Series Rings, Cerrone took all of his knowledge and experience and poured it into his own PR Firm – Rick Cerrone Communications. Today he uses the knowledge and skills that he learned over his career and applies them to his current clients, including the Taylor Hooton Foundation.
